Start the morning at the Monastery of Sant Jeroni de la Murtra -Cultural Good of National Interest- and enjoy its peaceful environment, surrounded by history, ancestors and Gothic architecture. A place outside the city and at the same time very close to it. When you leave, it is time to visit the neighboring Masia de Coll de Canyet, which under the distinction of the DO Alella’s produces the Orígens wine. Stroll among its vineyards and listen to the best family anecdotes of its owner Josep Coll: you will feel at home! End the visit with a tasting of some of their wines paired with a small appetizer.
And, like any city, to understand the authenticity of Badalona is necessary to analyze the remains of the past and stroll through the authentic Roman city of Baetulo. Discover the heritage that is preserved in the basement of the Badalona Museum, right in the center of the city. Contemplate the archaeological site, declared since 1995 Cultural Good of National Interest.
Make a journey of contrasts between the past and the present of the city, and think how you want to make the journey, we give you the options and you just have to choose:
- On foot: If you feel like walking, you can do the one-way route on foot through the signposted route Badalona, roads of health. The route is less than 2 hours by a very grateful road in an environment that will surprise you. Make your way out of Pompeu Fabra metro station or from the Badalona train station and visit the Monastery of Sant Jeroni, still walking to Masia Coll de Canyet, get off by bus to eat at Ca l’Arqué and, once you have eaten, go to the Museum.
- By public transport: If you think that this is a little much, we have a softer alternative. Make your way out with bus from the Pompeu Fabra bus stop to the Església de Canyet bus stop. From this point, walk up to the Monastery of Sant Jeroni, then continue to Masia Coll de Canyet, get off by bus to eat at Ca l’Arqué and, once you have eaten, go to the Museum.
- With your own vehicle: And, if your idea is to make your own route and explore the roads of the Monastery… Do the whole route by car.
